Adachi Museum of Art is a well-known museum in Shimane prefecture for its beautiful garden. The garden has been chosen as the most beautiful garden in Japan for sixteen consecutive years. There are no buildings in your sight when you see the garden from the window of the museum. You’ll see an amazing scenery without anything bothering your sight.
You can have beautiful sweets and tee at the small traditional cafeteria. This cafeteria has several wonderful tea bowls made at some towns in Shimane. There’s no same tea bowl!
The view from the window expresses a hanging scroll and its beautiful picture changes every season.
Off course there are a lot of Japanese paintings and artifacts in this museum beside the garden. You will feel the Japanese traditional atmosphere as much as you like. Shimane is a bit far from Tokyo. It takes about an hour by airplane from Haneda airport in Tokyo but I’m confident that you will be moved by this fascinating garden. Shimane has one of the most well-known shrines in Japan called Izumo-Taisya. I highly recommend you to come to this wonderful prefecture at least once.
