Eating Cambodian dishes in Tokyo – Angkor Thom

Cambodian food restaurant in Machia city

I was hanging out in Machida, a city in Tokyo, with my wife. We were looking for some ethnic restaurants and finally found this restaurant. Cambodian restaurants are difficult to find in Japan.

Actually, I have been to Cambodia to see Angkor Wat a few years ago and I tried a lot of Cambodian foods. All of them are good so I was really excited when I found this Cambodian restaurant.

Unique and Antique interior decoration

There are a lot of ethnic interiors in the restaurant. On the other hand, some Japanese goods like oriduru.  These decorations make this restaurant unique.

This restaurant has about 30 seats. There are a lot of books about Cambodia and Southeast Asia and we can read them while waiting for dishes. There are several Cambodian peppers and you can use them free. Also, you can buy them and the most reasonable one is 300 yen.

Spicy  foods and a variety of Southeast Asian beers

We can choose some lunch sets contains soup, salad, and deserts and they are 880 yen. My wife chose chicken curry and I ordered Cambodian stewed pork and Cambodian black beer. A lot of beers from Southeast Asian countries like Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam were on the menu. The beer I ordered was rich and taste good.

Cambodian stewed pork tastes spicy and tender. It goes well with rice and beer. The dessert made with coconut milk and tastes refreshing.

If you are bored with Japanese and Western foods, why don’t you try spicy Cambodian dishes?
